Black Parent Involvement Day
Monday, February 28th
Black Parent Involvement Day will be held on Monday, February 28th. It’s a day for parents to visit and observe the learning and activities of their child’s classrooms. We ask that parents arrive at 7:45 and report to the Cal library for a brief meet & greet with Principal Walker before you head off to your students’ classes.
Even during the COVID-19 crisis, BPSB, along with the Sacramento Unified School District (SCUSD) invites parents to introduce themselves to teachers and observe the learning activities their children. The special day is a way for parents to further build a rapport with teachers and to learn more about how to help their children succeed in their classes.
Parents who plan to participate in Black Parent Involvement Day should attend a special short training for how to observe classes and interact with teachers on February 10th. If you miss the training please download the classroom observation packet.
Parents can provide your school a permission slip to staff before attending. Download a copy here.
