Requirements: Please submit Elective Selection Online Form by 5/28/21. This class is designed to introduce students to the basics of drafting, carpentry and woodworking. Throughout the course students will complete basic carpentry projects. Course instruction will include shop and personal safety, proper use of common hand tools and power tools, and understanding about different wood types and their uses. Students will learn and apply practical math and geometry. Students will also learn the basics of computer-aided design (CAD). Students will be expected to work on individual as well as collaborative projects. This is an introductory course and no previous experience is necessary. Students with little or no prior woodworking experience are encouraged to join.
